Autographed Item Policy

Our policy on the sale of autographs and autographed items strives to ensure that all members are kept safe when transacting on shoppingtown.info and that every party is informed of the items and potential authenticity of the items being traded.

Autographs and autographed items are generally sold with "Certificates of Authenticity" (COA), which provide the buyer with some assurance that the item is authentic, and was indeed properly signed by the person(s) in question. A COA is based on the reputation of the issuer, and as anyone can offer a COA it is the buyer?s obligation to confirm the background and reputation of any authenticator or issuer, and shoppingtown.info accepts no liability for the authenticity of an item as set out in a COA.

Blank COAs are not permitted and certificates of authenticity may NEVER be sold as a stand-alone item.

Actions for disputed or inauthentic items

If shoppingtown.info believes that any listing of an item is inauthentic, inconsistent with this policy or that the sale of the item might create a legal liability for shoppingtown.info, the buyer, the seller or a third party, shoppingtown.info has the right remove any item listed as an autographed item on this site. This right will be exercise in shoppingtown.info?s sole discretion, and shoppingtown.info may remove the listing from the site. Sellers whose listings are repeatedly identified as violating this policy mat be warned, put on probation, or have their accounts suspended from all activity, at shoppingtown.info?s sole discretion.

Guidelines

Please ensure that all listings for autographs or autographed items include the following:

• A clear image or photo of the actual autographed item for sale;
• The Certificate of Authenticity, if relevant, including the name of the issuer and a scanned copy of the COA;
• Seller's refund policy?in case any reputable dealer (including those dealers listed in the relevant authentication section of shoppingtown.info's site) find that the item is likely not authentic.

Unacceptable authenticators on shoppingtown.info

The use of certain authenticators is not permitted on shoppingtown.info, and any listing which makes use of these authenticators may be edited or removed. For a list of these authenticators, click here.
