Active Content Policy

Due to security considerations and to ensure the best experience for users, shoppintown.info does not allow the use of active content in listings on the platform. Active content in existing listings will be removed.

Examples of active content include scrolling item pickers, embedded feedback, social sharing icons and currency conversion widgets. Please see our full policy guidelines below for the details of the types of JavaScript that are not allowed.

We strongly recommend removing any active content in your existing listings, as it will no longer be visible to buyers, and your listings won't be appearing as you originally intended.

Active content includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Code or procedures that manipulate the standard functions of shoppingtown.info listings pages or profiles including:
• Automatically calling remote scripts and / or pages;
• Changing registry entries;
• Dropping or reading a cookie on any shoppingtown.info page;
• Loading any binary program on another person's computer automatically;
• Manipulating or overwriting fields outside the listing description, including changing fonts, colours and backgrounds such as the headers and footers of shoppingtown.info;
• Redirecting users from shoppingtown.info to another web page or link.
• Plug-ins, including any code or procedure that launches media content (i.e. songs, videos) when a listing is opened;

Any listing which is found to violate this policy may be removed, and your account may be suspended. Further, any attempt to disguise the intention of function of a listing?s source code will be deemed a violation of this policy, as well as an attempt at breaching the data security of the shoppingtown.info website and we will report this conduct to the authorities.
